If you have even 5-10 clients you have seen for the same condition (e.g., arthritis, diabetes, etc.).

You can write and hopefully publish your own research articles (even if they are only pilot studies).
1. Keep accurate records of all
       A) health history and disorders
       B) results
       C) client satisfaction &/or medical tests
       D) have a standardized questionnaire (email us if you need a sample)
       E) therapies
       F) time it took to heal
       G) cost of consultations & therapies

2. Write the research article (email us for a sample format)

3. Have it reviewed by someone who has written articles before (or contact us)

4. Get a list of journals that you will submit the report (we hope to have such a list later this year).

5. Send them a letter requesting submission guidelines

6. Tailor the article according to their specifications

7. Submit the article to all appropriate journals

8. Once published you can apply for various grants for future studies.

We have two studies being written done in a similar way; one on seasonal allergies, and one on reactions to cancer chemotherapy & radiation treatments. Once written, these studies will be placed online. The emphasis of these studies are to awaken the insurance companies to the benefits of Ayurveda. For this we have been told by the insurance companies that they would like to see research showing cost-effectiveness.

Thus we are comparing costs of Ayurvedic therapies vs allopathic treatment. In addition we are also trying to maintain the integrity of Ayurveda by showing its holistic nature; that is, it is not just 'take an herb to solve an illness', but rather it is lifestyle, career, environment, etc. that all have to be considered.Lastly when we can, we are showing how Ayurvedic therapies can be used to prevent disease and thereby save even more money.

We know that digestive disorders can be simply healed with Ayurvedic spices and dosha diets. Ironically and sadly, digestive disorders cost insurance companies many billions of dollars each year. Imagine if we can show them how to save all those billions with research.Fortunately, making the cost factor the main emphasis of the studies doesn't weaken or diminish the true value of Ayurveda; that it helps people. We only have to speak in the language that people want to hear.

So go on! It's simple. Turn your case studies into research projects and bring something more to Ayurveda and today's health care system. Bring more respect and credibility to Ayurveda.

We will be happy to publish your research in our online Research Ayurveda Journal (RAJ).
